At Shree Guru Gana Lahari Sangeeth Academy, we are committed to nurturing the timeless tradition of Hindustani classical music while ensuring it remains inclusive, accessible, and celebrated. Our mission rests on two core pillars:

1. Empowering Underprivileged Children Through Music

We believe that music is a powerful force for transformation—spiritually, emotionally, and socially. Through our academy, we provide training in Hindustani classical music to underprivileged and marginalized children. Our goal is to:
  • Make music education accessible regardless of socio-economic background
  • Instil discipline, confidence, and a sense of cultural identity in young learners
  • Empower the next generation to carry forward our rich musical heritage
Through this initiative, we strive not only to create musicians, but to shape responsible, inspired individuals through the art of music.

2. Honouring Artists & Providing Platforms to Perform

While many artists dedicate their lives to music, few receive the recognition they truly deserve. At Shree Guru Gana Lahari Sangeeth Academy, we are committed to:

  • Recognizing and honoring unsung heroes of Indian classical music
  • Presenting the annual “Puttashri Award” to exceptional artists and teachers
  • Offering a dedicated stage during our annual function for awardees and other accomplished musicians to showcase their talent
  • Creating opportunities for emerging artists to be heard, appreciated, and supported
We see this as both a cultural responsibility and a tribute to our revered Guru, Pt. Puttaraja Gawai, whose life exemplified service through music.
